Now, I don't know if the comments were meant to go together, even though they were back to back, and just considering something is quite a low bar, compared actually commiting to something and attempting to execute it.
So I'm not saying they will do it, not even for a single practice, but the thought surprised me and made me ask why?
And my only answer was the same that McCarthy gave for why they were flipping the OL back then, which was, you want to successfully be able to run to the left, so putting their best OL at the time, in Sitton and Bulaga on the left made sense. And the reason you want to be able to run to the left, is because it open play action, fake runs, then a QB roll out to the right side. And most QBs are right handed, so they're better to the right side.
A left side of Tom, Banks, Jenkins, would be SO MUCH BETTER in run blocking than Walker, Jenkins, Myers.
And last year the Packers focused on the power run style, and so far, in the limited moves we've seen, looks like they're continuing it, as Banks is supposed to be a power run blocker.
Again, I doubt this change happens, but just one person MIGHT of said they'll consider it during the off-season.
