The NFL claims the issue with using technology to determine where the ball stops was not the location issue, but technically being unsure when the play becomes dead.
And yet, the UFL has had no issues with that.
And if the NFL (or if anyone really wanted to) they could add a whistle tracker to show the ball is when a system hears a whistle.
More likely is the NFL owners are cheap when they can get away with it, and they enjoy the controversies and debates and discussions it brings, as it brings more attention to the game.
