1. Replacing Josh Myers. I think it's kind of an underrated thing just how bad his play was at times, and how the whole offense suffered because of it.
2. Golden has every bit the speed of Watson (or more), and hopefully he'll be able to actually catch the ball, not to mention actually staying on the field. I cannot overstate just how much the offense suffered from not having him to take the top off opposing defenses.
On defense:
1. There is potential on the roster to see improvement in the pass rush. Cox (I think it was) had something like 7 sacks in the last 7 games, in only 160 snaps. The kid they drafted - Oliver - should add something as well. Between the two of them: if LVN doesn't get off the milk carton, his snaps will decrease precipitously. Hopefully they come through.
2. By the end of the year, the defense was playing very well. Year 2 in the system will help. Also, just knowing who they have in the defensive backfield should help. I suspect they won't do so much game-planning specifically around Alexander, even if he does remain on the team. I had said before that it wasn't a coincidence that the defense improved when they finally had Walker and Cooper both on the field. I also think it wasn't a coincidence that the defense improved when Alexander went on IR - lot easier to come up with a game plan when you know what players you have to work with.
We shall see...
