Bakh and his surgeons were faced with a decision 2 years ago when they fixed his knee. They chose the more aggressive approach in hopes of speeding up his recovery and unfortunately it came up snake eyes. That's why he was still getting all that fluid build up in his knee.
So they had to go back in and fix it. Twice.
He's been working with a orthopedic specialist in CHI named Brian Cole. And this MD uses stem cells, platelet treatments and a variety of regenerative medicine techniques ( non-surgical)
David has recovered well, but he still has issues post-workout and so there's a question if he can hold up for a season. I believe he and his MDs are going to try and go for it one more time in 2025.
As noted by others, chances are slim - but I don't blame him for giving it his all. I wouldn't want to leave the game the way he did either. Fingers crossed he gets one more swing in the NFL
