Re: The Packers 2025 OL
I agree, except that I'm not sure Belton wins the spot as a rookie. It's a tall order for ANY rookie in the trenches to come in and win a job - most need at least a year of NFL=caliber coaching, strength/conditioning, etc. I'd love to see it happen, but my expectation for this year is that Belton does not win a starting job, and basically they have to determine whether they think Walker is a better player than Rhyan. The worse of those two will be supplanted for this season by Jordan Morgan. Next year, once Belton is ready to win a spot, I think it ends up pretty much the way you've portrayed it (Morgan LT, Belton RG) but with different depth pieces in pace of Walker and Rhyan... The one thing that's really crazy to me, looking at it: they had an OL that wasn't bad at all last year. It wasn't 'great', but it also wasn't terrible. And yet, this year, they stand to have a different preferred starter at 3 of the 5 positions - 4 if your proposed lineup comes true. To me, it speaks to the renewed sense of urgency as portrayed by Gute's comments of "it's time to start competing for championships".
