Packers surprised many in the draft community by drafting Hopper with the 91st pick despite being 190th on the consensus board. Obviously teams shouldn't strictly draft based on this, but history has shown the further you are away from consensus the more likely it is the pick will flop.
So what did he do in his rookie year? Not a lot.
215 snaps on special teams and only 18 snaps on defense with a total of just 9 tackles. PFF gave him an overall grade of 60.7, 108th out of 189 LBs.
But stats aren't everything. What does the team think of him?
Well... not much. Since the end of the season, the team extended LB Isaiah McDuffie, signed LB Josh Simmons, and Brian Gutekunst has openly said they're in contract negotiations with LB Quay Walker. All this ontop of LB Edgerrin Cooper looking like a future star.
While it's very rare for a team to move on from a top 100 pick after just one year, could Hopper be a cut candidate?
It would be a pretty big draft bust in Packers recent history.
