I'd also like to point out, the averages are also heavily effected by, how willing the return man is to call for a fair catch.


Because Packers have had some returners that basically refused to ever call for a fair catch as they hoped to break a tackle and return it.

But if they don't call the fair catch and gain 5 yards or less that hurts this average, where if a returner calls fair catch and gets 0 yardage, that does not hurt the return average.

Then comes the question, would you prefer no yardage and a fair catch, or would you prefer a returner to try to get yardage anyways?
