If anyone replaces him... some rumors about the Packers just keeping Melton off the 53 man roster for week 1 and then putting him back on for week 2 for avoiding some vested veteran guarantee item.


Which makes no sense, as Melton clearly is not a vested veteran and the ERFA contract that he signed, which can only be given to those with less than 3 accrued seasons and you need 4 to be a vested veteran to avoid the waivers.

But it seems like the NFL has allowed him to avoid the waivers for some unexplainable reason.


Only thing I can think of, is signing a player off another teams PS onto our 53 man roster, otherwise, why do this?


But this is totally not making sense right now.
