Re: Best Turn AND Flip shoe on the Market - Challenger
I would like to offer for your consideration, from Triple Crown stable of shoes, the Challenger horseshoe. It is a universal shoe. It has double sided front cleats, squared corners, low and flat thumb cleat. Its wide body provides flexibility in how you hold and pitch the shoe. It also has great hooks! Although it has no ring breaker (to get in the way), I see very few instances of the typical 'lost shoe' experienced by most flippers. It's great for flip and turn pitchers alike. During the week, I pitch almost exclusively with partners - most flip, some turn. For the turn, I find that the speed of rotation can readily be adjusted by changing the grip or grip location on the shoe. My second and third choices for the "Best Flip AND Turn shoes" would be the Imperial Stingers and the Thoroughbred Mustangs. Both have double sided front cleats, smooth release and have some of the best hooks in the business.
