Welcome Kim What state? I agree the lower trunk is rotten. Cut the trunk towards the leaves until you find white tissue. Then let it dry for a week in a sunny position. Then pot it up in a black pot placed in your hottest, sunniest location so roots will from. It's native to locations which receive less than 10" of rain per year so keep the soil barely moist. Don't overwater or it will rot again. I keep my dead leaves on my trunk which protect it from rain. |
