Re: Windows 10 - Auto - Carol
I don't have W10 and have no plans on installing it until it's been released long enough to get the bugs ironed out and a handle on customer use. The fact of downloads and installation cannot be avoided, delayed, but not passed over from what I understand. The only option would be to delete the update if it proves to be problematic. It mentions that you can stop automatic downloads through your router but that doesn't seem to be a good solution to me. I don't have the same views on Microsoft generally as you do because I use my computer differently..nothing to do with graphics but just the Internet in general. I have no problem in using something new and letting go of the old if it does the job and appears to be doing it faster and easier. Data downloads are a problem for you..almost every thing I do involves watching clips..Facebook is a good example. More people are using tablets and smartphones as their main device..more than computers these days and enabling that market and putting blocks from intrusion in place takes constant updating. Many new users never learned how to navigate behind the scenes, they are not interested in learning...and as long as it does what they want it to do and they don't have to get involved in how it works is fine with them.
