Re: MORE YET. ( Thanks to Jean.) - Carol
Absolutely agree! They are not supposed to hire illegal aliens. But if there is no paperwork, no proof, if they can get away with it, they do it. Probably the local governments are in cahoots with business on this one. Obviously, they want them to stay, to work, a permanent underclass. But this is detrimental to everyone. California schools are rated at the bottom, on a par with Mississippi. Housing for the lower middle class is practically non-existent, taken up by illegal aliens living several families together to pay the rent. The County healthcare system is at the breaking point. Prisons are overcrowded leading to early release. On and on. And this is from one who loves Mexico. That's where I met my Bob, who was living in a Baja beachhouse at the time. He loved the Mexican people. I have half-Mexican nephews. I am fluent in Spanish. My radio is tuned to ciento-siete-punto-cinco porque me gusta mucho la musica. But the current situation needs revamping, it is bringing everything down.
