What we have now may be a Mexican problem in California because of its proximity...but is it really Mexican or are Central Americans increasing the numbers? I've just read three conflicting articles on the situation so which to believe is a question. The first was that Mexico is building a wall between it's southern border and Guatemala. Snopes says the picture used to illustrate it is False, but it does not say that the building of a wall is false. The second article claims that Mexico and Guatemala have an agreement to grant those traveling through Mexico 72 hours of legal status, the premise being that its just enough time to cross over the USA border. The third said that Mexico is stepping up its border control and that last year's immigration from Central America has been cut 50 percent.
It was reported that 500,000 Central Americans tried to cross into the US.
