Special Memories...Kats Kave

Last year...after cleaning up following Nabs Party (thank you so much for lending a hand; you know who you are!) we were discussing how maybe KK is not the most COMFORTABLE place to have the Nabs Party...could we find another venue?....and, yes, we probably could. That would bring on a different set of issues and would certainly be more work for Kel and me from a distance....but I would seriously consider moving if not for one thing: Kats Kave MEANS so much to so many. Every year someone says to me how wonderful it is to be back in that building. Maybe these words come more often from Bearcats who live a distance away and don’t see it very often, but it’s a fact. Just last year, one emotional Bearcat, a few years younger than I am, said...”I met my husband standing right over there” as she pointed to the corner near the stage. Another one told me “I had my first dance back there by the door.” Remembering that (and LAR’s recent nostalgic post about Anchors Aweigh’s words being altered...lol) started me thinking about special memories of Kats Kave. Do you have any?? Please share. What about how it came to be? How it got it’s name? I know we talked about this YEARS ago on this site, but there are probably readers who were not with us then. And the rest of us forgot...lol...so, as Nabs Weekend approaches, go on, break the ice, start some conversations and let’s hear what your memories are. By the way...one thing I for sure do not remember is why/how the spelling came to be. I prefer the K version to the C version. And I prefer the plural Kats instead of the singular possessive Kat’s. But that’s just me. Not sure which was used when it was officially named.
