Also Kaye, my father had good friends in Collierville, Tennessee named Richard and Russell Pate that trained horses also. Russell passed away a few years back, I last saw "Dickie" at my Dad's funeral in 2016.
There's a lady that lives in Collierville also that I used to converse with online. Her husband was a judge in Collierville but passed away a few years ago also. She is a historian and very pro-military. Haven't chatted with her in years as I dropped all major social media platforms many years ago. I believe her name was Melinda Hall. Very nice lady. As a historian, she was interested in talking with me about my brother-in-law (wife's side of the family) relationship with James Dean. My brother-in-law was first cousins with James Dean and has a lot of memorabilia and stories from when he was a kid in the 1940's in Indiana. My brother-in-law is Joe Dean (their Dads' were brothers). He's pictured in a family pic sitting on the ground next to the little girl in the wagon. James is kneeling next to the wagon (wearing glasses).
