I think the problem in this years draft the best receiver in the draft for some reason is considered a low round prospect.
Which to me means, everybody's got a huge blind spot for this guy, including DBs and that might be a good thing.
Just look at the top college WR SCOPE Scores from last season.
Since we haven't seen Matthew Golden, Emeka Egbuka, or Elic Ayomanor yet, here they are -- right in the middle with 4.7, 4.9, and 4.6 SCOPE Scores respectively. These are all very average scores, and they reflect a lower true production level from these weapons.
SCOPE is a true production WR metric based on inputs of yards per game, yprr, contested catch rate & drops (both volume adjusted), first down %, mtf/rec, and TDs. All scaled into a single score. Here is the formula:
