I think he was simply digging to find out, do they want to, or do they feel they need to demand a trade... not that a team has to honor that demand, but basically there are 5 WRs now, is my guy going to get playing time?
If not, then we need to get him to somewhere that he will be, as he won't be happy on the bench and his future contract is potentially riding on this.
I'm assuming, the agent is only doing this, as the player requested that he look into it. And the agent wants to see if he should reassure his guy, or if they need to start looking at other teams.
I'm making a lot more assumptions in this post than I prefer to make, but most other ways of how this could of gone down, that I have thought of, don't make sense.
I wouldn't screw with the agent, as he could then screw with the player and they could cause on needed distractions. Best to just give them reassurance as Gute did and keep it moving and let them compete.
I'm just surprised, as I thought it would of been Doub or Watson more so than Reed feeling uncomfortable or unsure where they stand.
But Reed has sort of been pigeon hold into the slot only role, and only against zone coverage roles.
