nice Y. torreyi! Great to see one......we rarely see people growing them. I haven't tried one since mine died the 04-05 winter (first year in the ground).

I'd take up the offer to dig up the elata......she's a BEAUTY! The main root probably goes down a good 2 to 3 feet......it won't be easy but it would be worth it. If you same the main vertical root the transplant may be successful.
