Reflections of the 1972 Forest High School Band

1972 - I was 13 years old and in 7th grade. I was also in my 2nd year as a trombone player in the Hawkins Middle School Band. The high school band needed some more support in the trombone section so Larry Rigby (our band director) had 2 of us to augment the high school. The 8th graders (all band members) were already playing at the high school level. They would have 1st period at the high school then ride a bus back to Hawkins Middle School driven by Larry Rigby for the remainder of the classes each day. Often times it was also band practice before and after school too... especially if contest was getting close. As a 7th grader being in one of the two best high school bands in the state was a daunting task. Forest was working on 15 years consecutive "ALL-Superior" that year and to be honest, I can't remember the other band that had one more year than we did at consecutive All-Superior. Larry will have to jog my memory here. I knew some of the people from church like Kim, Diane, Terri, Pequita, and a few of the others but it was still sort of scary playing at that level at such a young age. The wallpaper below has me with the red arrow pointing at the little guy in the trombone row. Dr Rigby was of course our band director and assistant to Mr Harvel. But there's one other person that I know of that frequents this forum and is in one of the pictures. Who can be the first person to name them? (other than the person themselves)
