Toya: Vanessa....Having read your response, there are a few things that I agree with, and a few things that I don't.
You say that you won't forget Ron's time in the Horde, but you forget the time that Hans spent in those towers, and the atrocities that he committed while under Senester's wing. You can't hold that against one and not the other.
You can't say that the lottery isn't rigged, yet none of the main eventers names have been pulled until now. You can't be upset that the wrestling community at large is criticizing Hans's reign as champion because of the people he's defended against. Hans is catching this heat because as a champion, you should have to defend against the best competition to define yourself. Becoming a success is damn hard work, and that journey can never be taken away, but staying a success is even harder, and that's in any walk of life. Hans gets heat because since he's become champion, he hasn't faced the best talent in the company as the World champion, and and if you have an issue with that, then talk to the people that run and write for the major wrestling newsletters and internet news sites. Talk to the wrestlers and other champions outside of HWA that have seen what has been going on and share a similar opinion. Furthermore, talk to the fans, because those same fans are what drive this argument. It may not be Hans's choice or yours, but since he is the champion and this was his idea, then he must take the criticism from it, fair or not.
You've seen the politics, but you have never had to go through it. You've never had to be demeaned and called out of your name not only by the fans who pay their money to see the show, but by those in power who just see him to be the "token piece" in the company, but never really wanting him to succeed. How would you feel if you endured constant and scathing racism from a loose cannon with no regard for anyone but himself, but then from the longstanding face of the company, and then once you beat that man into respecting you, you get hit by a car by some rookie rednecks hollering about "southern pride", and because he turned around and not only fought them, but beat both Draconis and his then partner...his name escapes me...you don't get your contract renewed because, and I quote, "you didn't make them look good enough while beating them". The HWA didn't want Ron back, and all he was doing was fighting for the side of right and good, and it took a legal action to get them to reinstate his contract. You don't think the powers that be liked being shown up by a mere "employee"? He's been paying for that incident ever since, Vanessa...but I doubt that you knew that.
How can you comment on whether he's preparing for a match or not, when every time we've seen Hans for this PPV, he's at home or in a studio, like the last footage he shot. Trust that Ron is at his gym, training with some of his students there, getting into tip top shape for this match both mentally and physically.
How can you comment on what Ron has done in the ring that you detest, when Hans has done the same things in his time in the HWA. I do detest the picture stunt, and it was something that I regret that he did. It was wrong, and once he walked into the front door, the business end of this right hand here told him so. His apology was his alone, and wasn't some edict that I threw down to him. Was it influenced by me...probably so. You would think too if you had done the same without thinking of the person you loved waiting at home to have to explain your actions to.
With all that said, let me ask you something. If the positions our men are in were reversed, and Hans was the one that had done all these things you show contempt to Ron for, would you call it the same way? Would you show the same contempt for the actions of the man you love, even if it meant he was doing it to reach his dream of becoming champion?
I don't have to like what Ron does inside those ropes, and certain things I've seen him do over the years I haven't liked. But I love my Ron-Ron...and I will support him, and trust that whatever path he chooses, that he will always find his way back to the light.
Being honest, I like you Vanessa. Ron does too, or else he wouldn't have stood up for you when he did. I know that if it came down to it, no matter what his affiliation, he would again come to your aid if the situation called for it and Hans couldn't do it himself. I respect your work, and you do it well. You deserved an apology for what he did, and he gave you a legitimate one, and hasn't said one word out of pocket towards you since. His battle is with Hans, and it should have stayed that way. You had no reason to speak on this....so let this be the end of the ladies talking about things that we have no control over. The men will settle the score in the ring, as they should...and all questions will be answered then.
