We open inside the conference room of the hotel where Ronnie and Toya are staying, where Toya was mediating a labor negotiation. No, not the one between the NFL and the NFLPA, cause we wouldn't be able to film it...lol, but a meeting all the same. The two sides have just taken their lunch break, and ever the dutiful fiance, Ronnie is bringing Toya's lunch to her, so that they can eat together.
Ronnie: Hey hunny bunny....how did it go?
Toya: It's going ok so far. Can't say much more with that camera of yours around, but it's going ok.
Ronnie: Cool...cool. So you wanna eat first, or do this spot first?
Toya: Let's do the spot first....go ahead and get it out of the way.
Ronnie: Alright, let's do this.
Fade out, then back in, where things have been straightened up and anything involving the mediation has been put away or removed.
Ronnie: Butch...I wondered when you would interject yourself into this. Guess you had time to fit this into your war of promos with Senester, eh? For someone who makes it a point to refer to nWo group promos as "random and uncharacteristic", you sure seem to be burning up the airwaves the last few weeks. I think I've made more appearances in this week, either me or my fiance here, than you have since Road to Ruin, but I guess when the "golden boy" is involved, seems like everybody has something to say. First Vanessa, now you....and you all keep hitting on one single point...a point that I conceded long ago, before won the All-Star title the last time. But at least you have a modicum or respect for me Butch, which is more than I can say for most, but that's on me.
I'd like to thank my lovely fiance for standing up for me when I was away in training and meditation yesterday. This wasn't her battle, and she didn't have to say anything, because some of the things I have done aren't the most righteous, but still she stepped up and delivered...and did it very well, I must say. She is truly my better half, and none of the things I do inside the ring or in the boardroom are possible without her love and support.
Toya: Wait hun...I see Butch asked me a question...would I say the same if those names came out first? No, I wouldn't. His reign would have been proven to be bonafide. The questions come not just from them, but the wrestling community as a whole on all levels.
Ronnie: Thanks hun....now...we are all sinners Butch. You, me...all of us. You and me, we accept our faults, own up to them, and move forward. Hans hasn't. He wants to act like he's the most honorable of us all, yet his hands are just as dirty, if not moreso than you and me put together. You can all throw my past, my shortcomings, and my affiliations up there as why you think I'm not worthy of being the world champion, but none of you question Hans, who spent more time within Dark Horse Towers than you and me. Hans, who is still very much favored by Senester, despite their separation, while you and I are degraded as mere "playthings".
A lot of what you said does define a champion, Butch. However, nobody said you had to plow one road to get there. It's foolish to keep banging your head against the glass ceiling trying to break through one way, and continuously failing. Or to simplify it:
"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. If that doesn't work, find a different way to succeed."
Joining with Ed and Talon gave me the extra added umph to my own talents to get me to the door...but it's all on me, and me alone, if I am to walk through it and claim the prize I've waited almost three years to hold again, minus that minute and a half that I held it a few weeks ago. This time, there will be no give backs, reverse decisions, or impromptu challenges. No extra stipulations or cage matches. Just two men inside the squared circle fighting for the richest prize in this business.
You alluded to something though Butch, referring to the ideal of respect. We respect each other Butch. We've gone to war more than a few times. You've come out on top more than I have, but we push each other's limits beyond the breaking point. No matter what is going on on the fringe or in the back, when we step inside those ropes, we go to war like two grizzled veteran warriors, and all that is said is left to the wind. The results tell the tale. You beat me at Road to Ruin, and I gave you your props. If Hans can manage to beat me, then he will get the same.
Nothing about Hans's reign as champion makes me bitter, other than he has what I want. What makes me dislike him to the extent that I do is because he does not respect me within those ropes. I could care less what he thinks about my actions outside the ring. Those are a means to an end. Inside those ropes, I've beaten the man five times, and he hasn't beaten me once, and he refuses to respect that. Not even counting the last two times, cause they were such clusterf*cks, the three times that we faced off one-on-one, I have beaten him, and beaten him clean and fair. I want the respect that is due to me, the respect inside those ropes that I have earned. He has never given me that, and that is why I do not respect him or his "championship reign". If he can beat me clean, then he will have earned my respect, and I'll step back, learn from it, and rise to fight another day. Can you say the same about your friend, your friend who's clearly stated that he is overlooking me in hopes of facing you? If you can answer that, then you're a better man than me, Butch. At the end of the Other Side however, that question will be a moot point, because I will holding the gold, and I will have earned my respect. If not from him and his girlfriend, then from everyone else who has said that I can't get it done. You may think it's the best reign since your own, but Hans's reign will die under those Flashing Lights....with me.
Der Baron ist tot ... und ich steigen auf den Thron.
