We moved to Forest in 1948. Mama had grown up on a farm in NW MO, of fiercely independent Scottish stock who loathed the very idea of FDR. Despised him. So we moved to Scott County, MS. You could not find three Republicans in the whole county. Except us. And mama made it very clear to me that we were to keep our political inclinations to ourselves!
