Re: Why some don't want kids.... Elle
From my point of view..it's still considered a good neighborhood. It's proximity to the city makes it prime. I loved living there but when I had to make a choice as to which house would be my final one, it was a no brainer. I had a mortgage payment that would have followed me into retirement that would have prohibitive and I'd be in trouble trying to carry it on SS. I do wish that I didn't have to make the choice until I stopped working as I intended because I would have came away almost tripling my investment. There were things changing around the time I sold..the two fare zone was changed into a transfer situation. It had kept the neighborhood from overcrowding. I was seeing changes I wasn't too happy about on my commute. The worse change I'm aware of today is the overcrowding. Because of the high costs, single family home owners have converted their basement into apartments and its become very uncomfortably crowded.
