Re: One of the Best....Hal Polk

I'm so glad Mr And Mrs Polk made it to this past years Coke and Nab get together. He really made an effort to be there and I could tell it was a goodbye of sorts. He graciously gave his prized Forest High School Band albums to anyone who wanted one of the many that he brought. I heard him share with Joe Townsend about what a great trumpet player his brother was and how kind his parents were. He shared a couple of special memories with him and then gave him one of the albums his brother was featured on. The Polks were special teachers to the Forest kids and their time here started a really special time for many students, not just band kids. He desired the best from his students and he gave his best as well. I was fortunate to have him as my band teacher for two years before they moved. They continued to support Forest even after they moved. Forest loved them and they loved their days in Forest. My sincere condolences to Mrs. Polk and their families.
