Jenkins has been sitting out of all off-season activities so far and reports indicate he wants security before heading into the season. Whether that be by more guaranteed money in 2025 or a long-term extension. Keep in mind, the average salary for a center is a lot less than that of a guard.
Jenkins is 29 and has two years left on his deal. It's not often players try to get more money with two years left on their deal, and teams don't often hand out new contracts for guys with that much left either.
If Jenkins returns to the team on his current deal, it's likely he'll be back for one year, as he's projected to have a $20M cap hit in 2026.
I could argue the Packers are seven deep at OL right now with Walker, Banks, Jenkins, Rhyan, Tom, Morgan and Belton. Could the Packers trade away Elgton Jenkins, kick Rhyan inside to C, then have Jordan Morgan move to the starting RG position.
If a team offered GB a 3rd or 4th round pick, would you make the move?
