There are ways to do this online, too, however it may take more time to get the money there. I have done it before when switching money to banks in which I'm opening up a new CD account in another state, but if it's neighborhood stuff, I usually just go in person to get the money.
I am not good in understanding computerese. I become very flustered and frustrated quickly when the computer tells me things I don't understand. It may be as simple as knowing what and how to install programs. I don't even understand what each program does and whether or not I need it. I probably could google it and MAYBE learn a little about it, but it upsets me, I'm afraid it will frustrate me all the more so I avoid it, I don't want to get a blood pressure spike! I will ask other people first if they know about it. You and Elle have given me some advice, as you may remember. But I do try when absolutely necessary, and I have persevered with the help of techs over the phone. You have to try....one step at a time...it's very important for you to learn.
If all fails, then you might want to find someone who will do this for you for pay. There are accounting offices where they do this for people as part of their services. I'm not saying you will like having to pay for this service, but it may be the way to go if RR can no longer do it.
I want to add that when I was younger, I was really bad at math. I am much better now. A lot of that is because of all the experience I've gained over the years by doing it. Another thing: my mother used to try to teach me to balance my checkbook and I could never follow her. My mind just could not absorb what she was trying to say. I found her explanations tedious and confusing. But my husband was able to teach me quickly. He had a different way of explaining that made more sense to me. Same problem, different teachers. It made all the difference.
