Also have learned that at my age the telephoto is like a roller coaster without some sort of camera support. Will experiment with my trekking pole which will mount a camera on top to serve as a monopod. If it turns out I'm too shaky for that I might have to go to a tripod....although the less I carry the happier I am.
Looking forward to joining in with the camera club to glean ideas.
The work you show is marvelous. My interest lies more in showing scenes as I see them. I could happily wander through Chinatown in NYC and get pictures of what is really there.
On a trip in China a few years ago, took a few days down the Yangtze. All the Chinese were on the front deck taking pictures of some thing on the side of a mountain. I crossed to the other side of the deck and took a photo...of all the Chinese taking a picture of the mountain.😀
This looks like the start of a past "hobby" again and something to force me off my butt and out there looking for photo ops.
