BTW, since the booklet doesn't take you step by step if you're a novice, to all the hundreds of choices from all 7 buttons and the wheel, it's not much help. It's like the writer of the booklet assumes the person knows about cameras. Knows the terminology. Knows how to work the screen thing. There was no description as to how to undo any changes made when a novice messes the camera up. Since I don't unload the camera every time I use it there should be some way to know how many images are already on it and how many more are left. But I found no way to find this information on the Cannon.
In looking at the Cannon there are 10 choices alone for the top thing that turns. Then there are 6 buttons with one having a middle button on the side next to the screen. There is nothing intuitive about using all these choices the camera has. It's set up for Auto as far as I can tell but I don't understand the wheel with the button in the middle. Select what? It shows a square with half dark and half light at the top of the wheel. But I don't know if that means some kind of setting and for what. The 5 small buttons are a total mystery. One is the menu but I have no idea how to make it do anything with the menu.
I know how to change the batteries.
My point was that not everyone understands these complicated cameras with all the bells and whistles they have no use for nor will ever figure out how to use. This camera has so many choices that are meaningless to a novice with no one to ask for help they are useless.
My point was there should be simpler cameras for people like myself and not have everyone pay for all the goodies they will never figure out how use and/or will never need. I'm not sure how else I can make my point.
Your point is, I think, that cameras should have all the complicated bells and whistles whether people need them or not. Have them because it's advancement for those who are camera buffs and understand how to use the hundreds of choices to take pics.
Without all these useless (to me) choices this camera could have cost half the price I paid for it.
