Obviously, the more you know about your camera and what's best for different conditions, the better results you'll get. Your camera is capable of some great shots but "noise" is a reviewed issue (most of which can be removed with postwork). The zoom gave me some handheld camera shake when first used but I've learned pretty much to brace my arm or use something nearby to help and that is becoming less of a problem. A mono or tripod will definitely eliminate it but that's something that can be a nuisance to carry if walking any distance. This is one of the first pictures I took with mine..shooting out through a kitchen window. No tricks used on the image other than minor tweaks.
