2) Going on long trips in the back of a station wagon in the middle of summer with your siblings and no air conditioning
3) Listen to your parents old country music on AM radio
4) Saying the Pledge of Allegiance at school each morning
5) Being proud that you were asked to read the morning devotional at school over the intercom
6) Not wearing seat belts, riding in the back of a pickup (or even a horse trailer)
7) Picking up pop bottles next to the road for spending money
8) Having only one small (maybe a 13" or 19") tv in the house and it was a black and white set.
9) Being the designated person to manually change channels or adjust the rabbit ears on the tv.
10) Watching Apollo 11 and Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon.
11) Earning or receiving a $20 bill for the first time and thinking you were rich
12) Riding your banana seat bicycle everywhere on Saturdays and Sundays and never worrying about coming to any type of harm.
13) Playing outside all day until your Mom made you come in the house at dusk
14) Eating at McDonalds was a special treat (we had to go to Jackson or Meridian back then ... I think we only had a "Dog and Suds" in Forest)
15) Staying in the bleachers at football games and have a music war with the opposition after everyone else had left. (Those in band know what I mean)
Wouldn't trade any of it for the world! Would you?
